Double-Pointed Knitting Needles
Double pointed knitting needles are the classic and oldest types of needles. Also known as ‘double point’ needles, they are very suitable to knitting small circular garments such as socks and sleeves. For larger circular garments, circual knitting needles might be more appropriate. Usually, four or five double point knitting needles are used at the same time. Two of them are used to knit the garment, while the remaining two or three are used to hold the stitches.
